Plan administrators will need to request additional reports from their actuaries or investment managers showing how assets are split across categories like public equities, real estate, and infrastructure, and across regions like Canada, the US, China, and Europe. Costs are expected to be minimal since this data already exists in investment records and is typically covered under fixed fees charged by actuaries and investment managers. Small businesses and smaller pension plans are not affected, as the $500 million asset threshold excludes them entirely.
