Terms of Use
Effective date: July 5, 2026
Overview
These Terms of Use apply when you access or use Legisail, including our website, application, alerts, summaries, digests, and related services. By using Legisail, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Informational Use Only
Legisail provides legislative monitoring, matching, summaries, alerts, and explanations for informational purposes only. Legisail is not a law firm and does not provide legal, tax, accounting, employment, regulatory, compliance, or other professional advice.
Your use of Legisail does not create a solicitor-client, lawyer-client, accountant-client, consultant-client, or other professional advisory relationship.
No Completeness or Accuracy Guarantee
We work to provide useful legislative monitoring, but Legisail may miss relevant bills, report delayed information, misclassify relevance, summarize information incorrectly, or generate incomplete explanations. Legislative sources may also change after we process them. Official legislative and government sources control.
AI-Assisted Content
Some Legisail features use AI-assisted systems to summarize legislative materials, create embeddings, match bills to business profiles, and generate plain-English explanations. AI-assisted content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for reviewing official sources, evaluating whether an update applies to your business, and consulting qualified professionals before making decisions about legal obligations, compliance, taxes, employment matters, regulatory filings, or other business decisions.
You are also responsible for keeping your business profile accurate and up to date. Inaccurate profile information may reduce the relevance of Legisail alerts and explanations.
Free Trial
New accounts receive a free trial that provides limited access to Legisail for approximately 30 days. No payment method is required to start a trial. During the trial you may use Legisail subject to the feature limits displayed in the product. When the trial ends, your account moves to a read-only state: you can still sign in and view previously matched bills and past digests, but notifications are paused and no new matching or digests will run until you upgrade to a paid plan.
Subscriptions, Billing, and Renewal
Paid plans are offered as recurring subscriptions billed in Canadian dollars (CAD). When you subscribe, you authorize Legisail to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis at the interval you select (monthly or annual). Applicable taxes are calculated and collected at checkout.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will attempt to charge your payment method on file. If payment fails, your subscription may enter a past-due state and, after a grace period, your access may be downgraded.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal accessible from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then. After the period ends your account reverts to the expired trial state described above.
Refunds
Because Legisail subscriptions provide immediate access to paid features, we generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error or have extenuating circumstances, contact us at [email protected] and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.
Price Changes
We may change subscription pricing from time to time. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before the new price applies to your next renewal. Continuing your subscription after the new price takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated pricing. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Legisail, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or copy substantial parts of the service, reverse engineer non-public parts of the service, upload unlawful or harmful content, or use Legisail in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
Account Access and Suspension
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe your account has been misused, compromised, or used in violation of these terms.
Third-Party Services and Sources
Legisail relies on public legislative sources and third-party service providers. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, completeness, or continued operation of third-party sources or services.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legisail and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, compliance costs, penalties, or losses arising from reliance on Legisail content.
Changes
We may update these terms as Legisail evolves. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by updating this page, sending an email, or providing an in-product notice.
