What this regulation does
This regulation strengthens Canada's anti-money laundering framework by requiring domestic money services businesses (MSBs) — such as currency exchangers, money transfer companies, and virtual currency dealers — to submit criminal record checks of their executives, directors, major shareholders, and agents to FINTRAC when registering or re-registering every two years.
