Bill 626: The Lobbyists Transparency Amendment Act

This bill primarily affects consultant lobbyists and organizations that employ in-house lobbyists in Saskatchewan — think government relations firms, industry associations, corporations, and non-profits with more than 5 employees that regularly engage with provincial politicians or government staff. If you're in this space, you'll now need to track and report every lobbying contact on a monthly basis — who you met with, what you discussed, when, and how — and disclose any political donations your organization or clients have made since the last provincial election. The 30-hour annual exemption threshold that used to let some in-house lobbyists avoid registration is gone, so more organizations will be pulled into the registration regime. Smaller non-profits with 5 or fewer employees are carved out, but larger associations and businesses with active government affairs functions will face meaningfully more paperwork and public disclosure.
