QC-392: Bill 392: An Act to combat food waste

This bill primarily affects businesses in Quebec's food supply chain — grocery stores, food manufacturers, wholesale distributors, and retailers of any size that sell food intended for human consumption. Day-to-day operations like managing unsold inventory, surplus stock, and near-expiry products will need to be rethought, as businesses must actively reach out to and partner with recognized donation or redistribution organizations. Small retailers may qualify for exemptions depending on regulations the Minister develops.
