Businesses that run loyalty or rewards programs — think grocery stores, airlines, hotels, or gas station chains — will need to overhaul how points are tracked, credited, and handled after a customer's death. Retailers and e-commerce sellers using personalized pricing tools or AI-driven pricing algorithms face compliance scrutiny and potential audits at their own expense. Appliance and electronics sellers will need to clearly display mandatory warranty durations on price tags and provide written warranty information at the point of sale, covering parts and labour for years longer than many current manufacturer warranties.
