Bill 14: Free Trade Within Canada Act

This bill affects a wide range of businesses and tradespeople across New Brunswick — from contractors, truckers, food producers, and retailers to consultants and service providers — who currently face duplicate licensing or product-approval hurdles when crossing provincial lines. If you're a small business or solo operator already certified or selling legally in another province, you can now sell your goods or services in New Brunswick without going through a separate New Brunswick approval process. Larger businesses that sell products across Canada will also benefit, as goods compliant with another province's regulatory standards will be treated as meeting comparable New Brunswick requirements. The law does carve out regulated professions (like doctors or lawyers) and certain goods and services with exceptions under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement, so those sectors are unaffected.
