Bill 125: Smoke-Free Ontario Amendment Act (Vaping is not for Kids), 2026

Any retailer currently selling vaping products in Ontario — whether a convenience store, gas station, pharmacy, or dedicated vape shop — will be directly affected, as sales will be limited to specialty vape stores (where at least 85% of sales come from vaping products) or board-of-health-approved designated stores in remote or rural communities. Vape shop owners will need to apply to their local board of health for approval before operating, meet proximity restrictions near schools, and comply with strict age-entry rules (no one under 21 inside, ID checks for anyone under 25). Online vape retailers will face a complete ban on sales into Ontario. Businesses selling flavoured vapes or nicotine pods above 20 mg/mL will need to clear those products from their shelves, and all promotion of vaping products — advertising, in-store displays, social media — will be prohibited entirely.
