Businesses will need to ensure product labels are accurate and not misleading, keep records for six years, and cooperate with government inspections — including remote digital audits. Fines for violations have been dramatically increased (up to $5 million for repeat indictable offences), and a new ticketing-style penalty system (up to $25,000 per violation per day) means even routine slip-ups can add up fast.
